Volunteer Your Ag & Fallowed Fields for Control Fields

The Tule Trust Land Fallowing Program

The partners in the Land Fallowing & Water Conservation Program with the Tule Trust are looking for any cropped or fallowed fields (not currently enrolled) within Pixley ID GSA and Lower Tule River GSA you’d volunteer for monitoring of wildlife counts and soil health.

Your cropped or fallowed fields will be used as “control fields” to compare migratory bird and soil health benefit across cover-cropped fields vs. fallowed vs. ag-cropped fields from January to July 2023. Your participation will help us quantify program benefits and inform future iterations of the Tule Trust’s Land Fallowing Program. Monitoring of bird counts would occur from about every 2 weeks (during peak bird season) to once a month. This would likely occur concurrently with the cover crop monitoring to closely measure differences.
